I. ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Department of Sociology offers a full-time graduate program leading to the Ph.D. degree. The Ph.D. in Sociology is conferred in recognition of high quality, original scholarship within the discipline. Students earn a Master’s degree while in pursuit of the Ph.D. The program is not designed for students who intend from the beginning to earn solely a Master’s degree. It is, furthermore, a full-time and in-person program. There is no part-time study option and no remote or virtual option for completing the Ph.D.
